The magnetic beads in the lysis buffer were developed to bind DNA/RNA of different sizes with high specificity, without proteinase K or carrier RNA. This eliminates any centrifugation step and filters, requires a minimal amount of collection tubes, and applies easily to high-throughput workflows.
